LOCATING YOUR BUSINESS OPERATIONS TO THE PHILIPPINES
BPO operations in the Philippines began in 2000 with 10,000 people. Today, the Philippines
has over 200,000 people generating $3.3 million in revenue. This expansion in the BPO
sector continues at 50% annual growth as a result of the country’s competitive labor rates,
expansive talent pool, quality infrastructure, and affinity with American culture.
The first wave of BPO operations started in the country’s capital, Metro Manila. The city now
has over 80 voice-based contact-centers located throughout the city’s districts: Makati,
Ortigas, Eastwood, Alabang and Quezon City. Locators are moving to other locations as
they recognize the economies that can be realized in provincial locales.

fiscal and non-fiscal incentives to IT-enabled service exporters. PEZA offers ready-to-occupy
locations to foreign investors who are export producers or IT service exporters in world class
and environment friendly Economic Zones and IT Parks/Buildings.
Access
The Philippines is located in the heart of Asia within four hours of most major capitals in the
region. Situated at the junction of the eastern and western business, it is a critical entry
point to over 500 million people in the ASEAN market and a gateway to American
businesses.
Major BPO destinations located throughout the country are easily accessible. Daily and
hourly flights to and from the major cities are available and numerous international airports
are also being developed.
Infrastructure
With a cyber-corridor connecting the Philippines from the north to the south, IT services
are effortless. The corridor stretches 600 miles from Baguio City in the north to Zamboanga
City in the south of the country.
